My Dinner with You
The piece is staged in the distinctive «Dialogue Dance» genre of physical theatre.
«My Dinner with You» depicts casual gatherings around the table. Two women and two men invite each other to dine and dance. Face to face or body to body they share their stories, desires, fears and all in all their solitude, tells Cécile Loyer (France), the choreographer of the production. Swiss musician and composer Simon Berz creates the soundscape for the dancers right on stage.
Yann Marussich. Blanc
Yann Marussich started his career as a dancer and choreographer; since 1980 he has been involved into contemporary performance. His own body is the main object of his artistic research and experiment. Entitled by critics as a «DJ of his inner body sounds», he is the author of over 30 performances and winner of the Ars Electronica prize in the category Hybrid Art for the Blue Remix show.
This performance made him famous in Russia when he presented it at the second International Festival of Media Performances at Winzavod Contemporary Arts Center and Moscow Museum of Modern Art, along with his Blessure performance showcased at the «Skorokhod Swiss Week» festival in 2013.
Blanc
Blanc is an art performance created for public spaces. Its main character, a silent artist in a white suit, offers street walkers to contemplate on a question and to write an answer on the suit as if on a piece of paper. The artist decides for each performance what kind of question to ask for.
Delgado Fuchs
Delgado Fuchs is a Swiss dance duo formed by the choreographers and dancers Nadine Fuchs and Marco Delgado in 2002. Their works combine dance, photography, video installation, fashion and fine arts. Delgado Fuchs successfully perform in Europe, America, Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Australia. The Russian audience is familiar with the duo through their shows at the Skorokhod Swiss Week and Diversia festivals.
On the performance «Horsetail Knickerbelt»
The performance takes place somewhere in a pre-historic desert or apocalyptical remains of a civilization. The authors travel in this landscape resembling modern centaurs in their horse tail outfits, wearing tight knickerbelts and alpine shoes. Their sinuous dance modulates mutual tension and has a hint of flamenco. The subject line dawns to immediately disappear during the whole show.
Nadine Fuchs and Marco Delgado recount that the shootings took place in Tabernas desert in the south of Spain which is famous for its western-like landscapes and footage.
On the performance «Nirvana»
Inspired by the postures and gestures of certain popular sporting disciplines, the dance movements compose the syncopated framework. Nadine Fuchs and Marco Delgado are in search of an antique perfection in fitness gyms and advertisement posters. They appeal to the images of pop culture of westerns, pin-up and drag aesthetics and turn them into a dance.
Ioannis Mandafounis
Ioannis Mandafounis Dance Company was established in Geneva in 2009. Its founder Ioannis Mandafounis is the winner of the Swiss Dance Award 2015 in the category «Outstanding Male Dancer».
The core of his work is the research of complex relations between an image and perception. The main objective of a performer is a constant impact on the viewer and his/her involvement in a performance. Ioannis Mandafounis’ distinctive interactive choreography is often referred to as symbolic and distressing. This will be the company’s premiere in Russia.
On the performance « One One One»
In the minimalistic staging of two parallel lines on the floor and two chairs the artists invade the public space and embark the audience into unexpected dance experience. Through visual contact the artists engage physically and mentally with a participant translating their emotions and transforming them back through a dance. The main idea of this experimental and somewhat disturbing experience is to explore the personal borders of a human being.
